Rosslyn Park HSBC National School 7s: Draws made for all 8 2019 Rosslyn Park tournaments

The draw for the 2019 Rosslyn Park HSBC National School 7s was made last week.

This year there are again eight different competitions taking place, the U18 Cup, U18 Vase, Girls, Girls AASE, Colts, and U14 knockout tournaments, and the two Junior Schools and Prep Schools waterfall tournaments.

The tournament runs from Monday 25th March to Friday 29th March, with the Juniors taking place on Monday 25th before the opening day of the U18 Vase on Tuesday 26th. Wednesday 27th is a little busier at the U18 Vase finishes off and the Colts tournament begins, before a busy Thursday as the main event, the U18 Cup, kicks off along with Day 2 of the Colts and the opening day of the U14 tournament.

It all culminates with a spectacularly busy day on Friday 29th as the U18 Cup and U14 Cup conclude and the Girls, Girls AASE, and Prep Schools tournaments all start and finish on Friday too.

Eight schools return as champions across nine opportunities for silverware, Sedbergh return to defend two titles after spectacularly sealing both the U18 Cup and the Colts tournament, beating Cranleigh and Clifton College respectively.

Hampton defend the Plate, though they will be hoping for a Cup run, after their win over Harptury College, who were also defeated in the Girls AASE final, Llandovery College defend that one.

Blundell’s will not defend the U18 Vase, they enjoyed a cracking final again St Peter’s York last year, but success there sees them into the Cup this year. Meanwhile Eton College will be in the Vase and hoping to avoid a Bowl defence, they beat Kingswood 31-17 in the final of that last year though.

Whitgift were the U14 champions last year in the most comprehensive victory of all of last year’s finals, they defeated Taunton 38-7 in that final. Cheltenham College meanwhile won the U14 Plate but will naturally be hoping for a Cup run instead this year. Exeter College meanwhile will chase back to back Girls titles after their 24-7 final victory over Ysgol Gyfun Glantaf last year.
