Schools Rugby Midweek Preview: County Cup final among the week’s highlights

With 7s season now up and running the midweek school fifteen-a-side fixtures are a little thinner this week.

That said there are still some fantastic games coming up on Wednesday, not least the Cheshire Cup Final at Preston Grasshoppers between two sides that have been performing superbly well all season, Lancaster RGS and Manchester Grammar. It should be a brilliant game of rugby and a spectacular occasion.

There are a couple of really exciting Anglo-Welsh clashes as Bristol Grammar host Welsh powerhouses Ysgol Gyfun Glantaf and Gower College make the trip to in form Old Swinford Hospital. Meanwhile, sticking on the Welsh theme, Llandovery College take on Crawshays Welsh XV.

Back in England Hayes will hope to keep their outstanding form going when they host Simon Langton Grammar, while Glyn host City of London Freemen’s for what looks on paper like being a superb game of rugby.

Elsewhere Davenant host West Hatch at Wlson’s welcome Woodcote, while Carshalton make the trip to Sutton Grammar.

There is a good looking game in the Midlands too as Bishop Vesey’s Grammar travel to KES Birmingham. Both were in action on Saturday, Bishop Vesey’s beat KES Camp Hill and KES Birmingham drawing with Bablake.
