School 7s: Middlesex 7s Draw & Preview

The Middlesex U18 7s takes place on Wednesday at St Benedict’s School in Ealing.

Sixteen teams will be in attendance, split across four groups of four each, with the winner of each group heading to the Cup semi finals, second to the Plate, third to the Shield, and those finishing bottom of the groups heading to the Bowl semi finals.

Last year’s tournament was cancelled due to the snow, meaning that Hampton are the host recent champions after their 33-0 win against Henley College in 2017.

Both sides return this year, Hampton are drawn in Group B where they will be up against St Paul’s, Sir William Borlase’s, and John Fisher’s 2nd VII.

Henley College meanwhile have the John Fisher 1st VII to contend with alongside Seevic College and UCS over in Group D.

The hosts, St Benedict’s, have a tricky draw alongside the AASE finalists, Beechen Cliff, who have proven a strong 7s side in recent years. Joining those two are London Oratory and Emanuel.

The remaining group is Group C, which features a side that have been right at the top of the 7s table over the last few years, Harrow. They are drawn against Mill Hill, Windsor Boys School, and Weston College.
