Scotland have named their three U16 squad to compete in the Regional Age-Grade U16 Combined tournament in Wales.

The three Scottish sides, Blue, Green, and Red, will face Ospreys, Scarlets, Cardiff Blye, Dragons, and RGC, as well as Scotland Blue taking on Scotland Green on Monday 22nd April.

Scotland Blue and Scotland Red have named 26 man squads, which are made up exclusively of players playing in Scotland, while the 23-man Scotland Green squad is made up purely of Exiles.

Among the Exiles are three Grammar School at Leeds pupils, Tom Peach, Scott Wilson-Poe, and Ruaridh Fowler. Peach and Wilson-Poe are both in the forwards, alongside RGS Newcastle’s Calum Fletcher and Dartmouth Academy’s Kyle McGhee.

Also in the forwards are Warwick’s Archie McCusker and another Archie, MacArthur, of Shiplake College, alongside Bristol Cathedral School’s Lewis Antwis and Bishop Stortford High School’s Murray Davidson.

RGS High Wycombe are represented by Drew Padfield with Bromsgrove’s Hamish Cross and Emmanuel’s Charlie Sinclair also selected alongside Sandbach’s Angus Walker and Woodbridge’s Haydn Sykes.

In the backline Cranleigh see Toby Kemp selected, with Southborough High Schools Angus Findlay and Chipping Campden’s Josh Hands also in the squad alongside Guisley’s Josh Dunn and Windsor Boys’ Lewis Naylor.

Wirral Grammar School’s William Robinson also makes the squad, as do Gordon’s Jack Bodell, Buckingham Sports College’s Kyle Cummins, and Pigott’s Will Young.

Speaking to www.scottishrugby.org the Scotland Green Head Coach Tom Gilchrist said

“I am thrilled with how the players have progressed – they have been excellent at retaining information in what has been an intense period of learning. The coaching team are delighted with how the group have connected and we have enjoyed spending time and supporting these young men as the tournament approaches.”

“We are all looking forward to seeing how our training efforts transfer into on-field performances and it is going to be exciting watching them express themselves in line with the national blueprint principles as they make the national jersey, their families and themselves proud!”
