The Champions Trophy, Schools Cup, and Schools Vase may have dominated the week’s school rugby news, but there has bee plenty of other rugby played too.
Through Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday sides were in action all over the country, including some absolutely massive games.

Tuesday
The Scottish Schools Cup was the dominant force on Tuesday, with Edinburgh Academy, Stewart’s Melville, and Strathallan all making progress. At Edinburgh Academy, Loretto were put to bed, 49-0, while Glenalmond College were Stewart’s Melville’s victims, 35-7. Strathallan meanwhile were 76-12 victors over Boroughmuir.
Over in England it was the Schools Bowl taking centre stage, Mount Kelly in flying form against Torquay Boys Grammar, 61-7.
Wednesday
The Schools Bowl saw a good deal of action on Wednesday. Worthing College were 21-0 victors at Worth, while Maidstone Grammar enjoyed a stunning 64-5 victory at St Dunstan’s College.
In Norfolk Sandringham secured a 32-10 victory over Roundwood Park, while on the opposite side of the country Hereford 6th form College secured a brilliant victory in a thriller against Princethorpe College, 41-24.
Ampleforth College are putting together a bit of a run of form, and continued that with a 24-0 victory over Harrogate Grammar on Wednesday, while Beth’s Grammar beat Wilmington Grammar, 48-5.
Outside of the Bowl, one of the biggest games of the day was Kirkham Grammar’s trip to Hartpury College. It was Hartpury’s non-AASE side, the AASE group were playing in the league, however it was still a strong side and further evidence of Kirkham’s quality as they secured a 34-7 victory.
Elsewhere AKS Lytham, Pate’s Grammar, and Dunnotar picked up victories, while Churcher’s College won a tight one against Royal Alexandra and Albert, 26-24. Shrewsbury also won a bit of a thriller, 37-24 at KES Five Ways.
Hayes claimed a brilliant victory over Eltham College, 38-14, a win that should give them bags of confidence. As should Royal Latin’s 56-0 victory over Akeley Wood.
In Scotland Glasgow High School knocked giants Merchiston Castle out of the Cup, winning 32-14, while in the Plate St Aloysius’ beat Hutchesons’ 38-24. IN Wales Christ College were outstanding for a 44-0 defeat of Ysgo Gyfun Bro Morgannwg.
Thursday
After five defeat on the spin, Stowe made it two wins from two on Thursday with a 19-10 defeat of Radley College, that must surely send them into half term with a real spring in their step ahead of the second half of the season. King’s Rochester were also in good form, enjoying a strong 28-3 victory over Bethany.
