With half term now well underway, there is little rugby this week. However the world of schools rugby rarely stops and there is some that is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Wednesday and Thursday will both see action, with the highlight surely an annual magnificent occasion at Sixways Stadium.

Wednesday

The big game of the day, indeed the week, is the Modus Cup. It is contested at Sixways Stadium, home of Worcester Warriors, between old rivals RGS Worcester and King’s Worcester. The 7pm kick off always draws a huge crowd and should prove a fantastic game. Both are having decent seasons, RGS have won seven, drawn one, and lost one, and that loss was to an outstanding Dean Close side, while King’s have won five and lost three, and those all to strong sides, including a narrow one point loss to a very good Sir Thomas Rich’s side.

RGS Worcester have won the last two, a narrow victory in 2017 followed by a more dominant one last year, but history is with King’s, who have won six of the past seven before RGS’ two in a row. Whichever way it goes this time, a huge evening and a wonderful atmosphere await on Wednesday.

Prior to that though there will be a few other fixtures, Hymers College hosting Thomas Rotherham College, while Southam College welcomes Myton. Elsewhere Cleeve will welcome Chosen Hill, while Westcliff High travel to Davenant. Another big game on Wednesday sees KES Aston make the trip to Abraham Darby, for what should make for a fantastic contest.

Thursday

There is just the one game on Thursday, but it is a game that has plenty riding on it as it comes in the Schools Bowl, where Sandringham will be hosting Knights Templar.
