U18 Schools Bowl: Quarter Final Roundup, Semi Final Draw

The U18 Schools Bowl semi finalists have been confirmed after an exciting week of quarter final action.

The Bowl has not been the easiest of tournaments to follow this year, but a successful first national stage has certainly generated plenty of interest. Oddly, the four games left the semi finals split between just two regions, with the two north section winners set to meet in one and the two London & South East winners set to meet in the other.

U18 Schools Bowl Semi Final Draw:

St Edward’s College (North B) v Ampleforth College (North A)

Worthing College (London & South East A) v Maidstone Grammar (London & South East B)

Quarter Final Roundup

In Liverpool, St Edward’s College sealed their semi final spot with a solid 22-12 defeat of Sandringham, whose strong run through Midlands B ended with this first national game.

St Edward’s were impressive and will need to be again in the semi finals as they meet a side with a glittering schools rugby past. Ampleforth College will be the side to travel to them after they sealed a very strong 39-10 victory over the 2017 U18 Vase champions, Royal Latin. Setting up a chance for a return to the big time for the former Rosslyn Park champions.

Worthing College will host the other Bowl semi final, they beat Marling on Wednesday, however the final score from that game is yet to be confirmed. The side they will be hosting will be arriving with a huge amount of confidence though. Maidstone Grammar were in stunning form at home against Windsor Boys, winning by an outstanding 53-0 margin to secure their berth in these semi finals.
