A fun week of schools rugby looms as half term moves ever closer, with games early on in the week in both fifteen-a-side and seven-a-side formats.
With the 7s season now in full flow, and so far steering clear of too much tough weather…long may that continue, many are taking the chance to play some midweek training game, while plenty of others are still very much in fifteen-a-side mode.
Monday
Monday sees just the one game as The Perse welcome Barker College from Argentina, one of a number of Argentine sides on tour at the moment.
Tuesday
Tuesday then sees another Argentine side in action as Liceo Naval take on Scotsmen Stewart’s Melville. There is also 7s action as the Eastern Counties Super 7s kicks off, with the likes of Langley, Ipswich, and Norwich Schools all involved.
Wednesday
There is a touch more 7s on Wednesday, City of London Freemen’s and Emanuel getting some training and game time practice in, similarly Wellingborough and Bedford Modern.
Elsewhere Wednesday is a busy day is the full format of the game, and another Argentine tourist will be among them as Belgrano take on St Benedict’s.
Meanwhile there are some massive non-touring games, not least a Sedbergh XV taking on Wilmslow High School. There is also a huge clash between Whitchurch High School, who on Sunday won the South Coast 7s, and Seaford College, who have played some wonderful stuff this season.
KES Stratford and Old Swinford Hospital go head to head in what should be a top game, while elsewhere Bury Grammar travel to Audenshaw and Newcastle-Under-Lyme make the trip to Lady Manners.
In Wales Christ College welcome Bro Edern, with Rydal Penrhos travelling to The Grange. Meanwhile across the border Shrewsbury host Welbeck and St Peter’s Gloucester make the trip to Royal Wootton Bassett Academy.
In the South East Hayes are hosting Langley Park, that should be a top game, while Robert Clack welcome Davenant, Darrick Wood head to Wilson’s, and Cobham International School travel to Harrodian.
Elsewhere in the area Glyn visit Latymer Upper and Ravens Wood host Harris City Academy. Meanwhile in the North West Manchester Grammar, fresh from an impressive weekend, host Runshaw College.
