On Thursday afternoon NextGenXV will live stream Sherborne v Harrow, a huge schools rugby contest in the U18 Schools Cup Quarter Final.

These two sides will be raring to go for this one, when the competition was last held Sherborne reached the semi finals and will be desperate to go one better this time, while Harrow’s U15s had a great run in that same year and will want to go even further now as 1st XV players.

The game kicks off at 2.15pm and you will be able to watch on our YouTube channel and embedded below in this article as two of the most prestigious schools in England go head to head at one of the most picturesque grounds in the country.

Sherborne have a tough task on their hands, Harrow have proven themselves to be one of the very best sides in the country this year, and gave up a shot at the Daily Mail Trophy title in order to get this Quarter Final played, they were due to play Wellington College in that competition in this time slot previously.

Harrow’s season has seen them win ten of their twelve games, only a very narrow defeat to Whitgift and a draw with Berkhamsted, another of the finest around and whose quarter final against Trinity next week we will also be streaming, spoiling the perfect fixture card.

Among their many highlights was a fast start to the season that saw them rack up 100 points in their opening two games of the season, as well as a tight win at the superb Tonbridge School 1st XV, and a brilliant 33-17 defeat of Epsom College on Saturday.

In the Cup they had a simple early passage with a bye and a walkover, before an almighty tussle with St Benedict’s, which they won out 13-8. Then in the regional final they looked comfortable against Hampton, only for the away side to come marching back. Harrow held firm though for a 25-19 victory and a place in this quarter final at Sherborne.

Sherborne’s season has been more mixed, with six wins and five losses from their eleven games, but there is a real sense of momentum about them at the moment as a result of this Cup run, which has really dominated the latter half of their season. They started with a tight win over Cup legends Colston’s, before a good victory over King’s College Taunton, and then a tight but impressive 22-20 victory at the immeasurably difficult place to play that is Ivybridge Community College.

On Saturday they completed the job in South West B, beating Canford 18-3 to secure this quarter final spot, and it’s a fast turnaround, from Saturday to Thursday the momentum behind this Cup campaign really feels massive.

We can expect a big crowd too, at their 35-14 victory over Marlborough College over 400 were there to watch it, it seems likely that a big crowd can be expected on Thursday too, and little wonder – it has all the makings of a Cup classic.
