Among this weekend School 7s events, Norwich School are hosting an U18 and U16 Festival on Sunday.

With big tournaments also going on at Durham, Shiplake College, Portsmouth Grammar, and Pangbourne College, this weekend really feels like the true start of the school 7s season. Though there is also plenty of fifteen-a-side action, all of which you can check out in our weekend preview.

The U18 competition at Norwich will be a round-robin format, with Samuel Whitbread Academy, Uppingham, Felsted, Oundle, Ipswich, and Denstone College all in attendance alongside the hosts in what is a high quality 7 team competition.

They will all play each other once, with no knock-out stages, with the tournament being used more as a Festival pre-season competition.

In the U16s the same spirit applies, however with twelve teams involved, they are split into two Pools of six, with each side playing the others in their Pool once.

Pool A sees hosts Norwich joined by Oundle, Denstone College, Samuel Whitbread Academy, Royal Hospital School, and Felsted, while over in Pool B it is Ipswich, QES Barnet, Uppingham, Bedford, Gresham’s, and Framlingham College.

Overall it looks set to be a cracking day of action on Sunday at Norwich School!
