Friday evening sees Gordon’s School host the Gordon’s School Floodlit 7s as the Harlequins affiliates welcome a number of schools for tournaments at both U18 and U16 level.

The U18 draw sees eight sides in total, drawn into two groups of four. The winners and runners up of those groups will head to the Cup semi finals, and the loses of those semi finals will compete in the Plate final. Meanwhile the Cup final will, naturally, be between the semi final winners.

Hosts Gordon’s are in Group 1 where they face a strong field, Emanuel, Dulwich College, and Ipswich, who are spreading their wings wide this 7s season, not least with tournaments on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday this week.

Over in Group 2 Wellington College jump off the page, the School 7s legends that will be among the key contenders for some of the year’s biggest 7s tournaments. Alongside them are Felsted, another side with a busy week – they are off to the Reed’s 7s on Sunday, as well as Worth and King’s Canterbury.

Over in the U16s tournament there are six sides in the competition, Gordon’s, naturally as hosts, as well as Wellington College and Ipswich, who are both in the U18 tournament, as well as club side Chobham RFC, plus two schools only competing in the U16s, St George’s College Weybridge and St Joseph’s College.

It promises to be a spectacular night of action at Gordon’s on Friday night, with some incredibly strong competitors and some genuine emerging forces in the schools rugby world. It’s not to be missed!
