Live Stream: ECRFU Men’s U18 College Cup Final and Women’s Showcase

This Wednesday will see NextGenXV live stream the ECRFU Colleges Final from Wallsall RFC as well as an U18 Girls Rugby showcase game at the same venue.

The action will see Hartpury College v Exeter College kick the day off in the Women’s U18 Showcase game at 11.30am, followed by the ECRFU U18 Men’s Colleges Cup Final between Hereford 6th from College and USP College at 2.30pm. You will be able to watch it all live on our YouTube channel, or through the embedded video below.

Womens Showcase (11.30am)

The Women’s Showcase will see Hartpury College and Exeter College going head to head, and the competition should be epic, after all their 7s teams were on fire last week at the Rosslyn Park HSBC National School 7s. Hartpury College won the Girls AASE competition, once again, while Exeter College won the Girls U18 competition, so to see the two go head to head in fifteen-a-side should be spectacular.

It’ll be a tough ask for Exeter though, Hartpury College are unbeaten in the AoC Leagues, winning against Bishop Burton College and Loughborough College home and away, and have only conceded a single across those games.

With 64 alumni in the Allianz Premier 15s, they are, quite simply, a machine when it comes to top class women’s rugby.

Exeter College have plenty of ambition to match though, and are unbeaten themselves, and while they may have conceded a few more than Hartpury, they have still been utterly dominant in their unbeaten run against Worthing College and SGS Filton College home and away.

We should be set for a cracking game of rugby between the two, and a wonderful start to the day.

Men’s U18 ECRFU Colleges Cup Final (2.30pm)

The Men’s ECRFU Colleges Cup Final promises to be a cracker, both sides have been putting in some stunning performances en route to this final. Hereford Cathedral School have been flying, and will be representing the South West in the Association of College’s National Championships towards the end of April after they topped the West Midlands league.

Three of their side have been involved in the Worcester Warriors U18 squad through the recent Premiership Rugby U18 Academy League campaign, a sign of the progress they have made and the quality that they will be bringing to the fray on Wednesday afternoon.

With over fifty boys pressing for places in their two teams, Hereford 6th from College have had some superb competition this season, and the quality of their play was reflected in their huge showcase game against Hereford Cathedral School back in November, though they lost 14-9 they were within a play of winning the game and competing so hard they demonstrated just how much progress they have made to be able to push such an established rugby institution so hard.

USP College, formerly known as Seevic College, have had some great success in recent times, winning the AoC League twice, and three Reigonal 7s titles The big monkey on their back though is National finals, they have reached three but are yet to win one, and though they can rightly be proud of reaching them, they will be absolutely itching to achieve success in this fourth final

They are in strong form too, the season was a tough one prior to Christmas, however since then they have been flying. Successful cup runs have flowed and they are set to play in the Essex Cup semi finals. This is the big one though, and they will be itching to do well.

To this point in the competition, both sides have been outstanding, Hereford 6th form College beating Cirencester College and Bridgewater College handsomely ahead of a tight victory over Exeter College in the quarter finals and a thrilling 38-17 victory over Shrewsbury 6th form College in the semi finals.

USP College have been great scrappers the whole way, winning tight games against Reigate College, Hills Road, and in the semi final against Loughborough 6th form College a tense 11-8 victory. They got to stretch their legs a little in the last 16 though, beating Farnborough 36-15.

It’s all set to be a cracker!
