Live Stream: Newman College vs The Lambs – Fast and Free rugby set to shine on screen

Wednesday evening sees the NextGenXV live stream cameras head to Brunel University to bring you live coverage of Newman College vs The Lambs.

After an epic few weeks of rugby, it promises to be an absolute blockbuster of a game with two sides that bring so much excitement to the table whenever they take to the field, and you will be able to watch it all live from 6.55pm on Wednesday from Brunel University on our YouTube channel or through the embedded link below.

It should be a fantastic occasion, Newman College are one of Ealing Trailfinders’ partner schools and this season has been an absolutely stellar one for the South Coast side and this fixture will be a grand occasion on which to wrap things up.

The Lambs, for those not in the know, are a club set up to give U6th players a chance to showcase their skills at a higher level, while playing a ‘fast and free’ style of rugby with a real ‘Corinthian spirit’ at their core. It is player led rather than coach led, and to qualify players must be nominated by school coaches, and should not be a member of a Premiership Academy, RFU Elite Pathway, Divisional level or above, and must be in their last year of school.

What that leaves you will is the cream of the crop of players not playing representative rugby, all given a license to play what they see and how they love.

They will be bringing that to the table against Newman College, without a shadow of a doubt as they return to the field for the first time since February, led once again by Millfield’s George Jones.

Newman College are riding the crest of a massive wave this year, they won the AOC Premier League this season, with ten wins from ten and conceding an average of less than ten points per game, while racking up 386 of their own.

They have been a dangerous outfit on all front, too, they may have been knocked out in Round 2 of the U18 Schools Cup, but it was to the eventual champions, Trinity, and they gave them their toughest outing until the final.

This Newman College side is a seriously strong one, and one in red hot form.

Reality is though that in a game like this, expressing yourself is going to be the order of the day. Both sides will go hard at it, and both will want to win – for Newman College the Lambs would be a huge scalp, while after back to back defeats the Lambs are going to be desperate to come away with a second win of the season – but more so than that, they will want to experiment, want to try things, want to have fun.

It is that fact that makes this one of the most exciting live streams of the season, a season that has seen the NextGenXV cameras take in 35 schools and age-grade games/tournaments already. It should be fantastic.
