Live Stream: Seaford 10s | Preview & Live Stream Links as 16 gather at Seaford College

The 2023 Seaford 10s takes place this Sunday at Seaford College with 16 teams gathering in Sussex for what is one of the great events on the schools rugby calendar.

As January closes, the shortened format season approaches, topped and tailed by huge 10s tournaments that will both be live streamed here on NextGenXV the Seaford 10s on Sunday and the Sedbergh 10s at the end of March, with some incredible 7s tournaments in between, including tournaments at Ipswich, Christ College, Gordon’s, and Solihull, all of whom will be in action at Seaford College on Sunday.

NextGenXV will be live streaming the Oval 1 and Oval 2 pitches at Sunday’s Seaford 10s, both of which you can view on our YouTube channel or by opening the embedded videos below, and every team is guaranteed at least one game on the live stream.

The action begins at 10am and runs through to a lunch break at midday, the tournament then moves into the semi final phase at 1pm before another break ahead of the Plate, Vase, and Bowl finals at 2.20pm, with the Cup Final at 2.50pm.

Trinity School are the reigning champions, their 22-17 victory in the final of Welsh stars Christ College was a final for the ages between two sides that had shone throughout the day. It sparked a run that saw Trinity go on to lift the Schools Cup for the first time 6 weeks later, a competition they are in contention to go back to back in.

Groups

Pool 1 Pool 2 Pool 3 Pool 4
Seaford College Gordon’s Ipswich Trinity
Dulwich College Epsom College RGS High Wycombe Hurstpierpoint
Felsted Cardiff & Vale Christ College Marlborough College
Bishop Wordsworth’s Solihull Haileybury St Benedict’s

The Croydon side are drawn in Pool 4, there are four pools of four with the winners heading to the Cup semi finals, second to the Plate semis, third to the Vase, and fourth to the Bowl.

Joining Trinity in Pool 4 are the 2018 champions Hurstierpoint College, who also won the Plate in 2019, alongside those two are Schools Cup quarter finalists Marlborough College, and last year’s Bowl finalists, St Benedict’s.

Hosts Seaford College are in Pool 1, Seaford claimed the Vase last year with victory over Haileybury but will be eager to have a real go at Cup success. Joining them are Dulwich College, who lifted the Cup in 2019, Felsted, who were Plate winners in 2020, and last year’s Bowl winners, Bishop Wordsworth’s.

2020 champions Epsom College are in Pool 2, they had success last year too, winning the Plate. Alongside them are the side they beat in that 2020 final, Gordon’s, alongside Solihull, and Welsh side Cardiff & Vale College, who are going to be major contenders after a truly fantastic season.

Last year’s finalists Christ College are in Pool 3 and if the Welsh side play anything like they did in 2022 then they will once again be in the mix this year. They are joined by Ipswich, whose strengths are well storied this year, alongside RGS High Wycombe and last year’s Vase runners up, Haileybury.

Without a doubt the Seaford 10s is set to kick the short-format season off with a bang. 16 top quality teams coming together at one of the most pristine settings in all of schools rugby. The action is set to be intense, with 9 minute halves and a minutes rest in between, with each side guaranteed four games and finalists playing five.

It’s not to be missed, and you can catch every second of the action on Oval 1 and Oval 2 live here on NextGenXV.
