As has become custom, each year we publish a list of 100 South African school rugby prospects to keen an eye out for the 2023 season. And once again we wish for everyone to understand the following:

*We do not say these are the 100 “best” players in South Africa, rather they are just players we suggest keeping an eye on

*We limited the list to a maximum of 6 players per school, this avoids dominance of the big six schools as has happened in the past

*We often get it “wrong” and miss out on players who will get their national colours, these things happen when you put yourself out there – you must be willing to accept you often do not get things right

*We had 300 top players on our list, selecting only 100 was a torrid task to say the least. For the athletes not on the list, don’t think we are not aware of you and remember as with all our content it is about creating fun and engaging content – we love to be proven wrong and so many players in previous years have done just that!

*As always, Wednesday we name our 15 to watch made up of players on this list and then on Friday we will name our Number 1 prospect for 2023
