Schools Rugby: NextGenXV Schools Rugby Table | Big shake up after an unpredictable weekend

NextGenXV Schools Rugby Table Week 2 (1200 x 676 px)

Last week saw the publication of the first NextGenXV Schools Rugby Table of the season, and already there are big changes right across the board.

Harrow remain top of the pile after their thrilling victory over Tonbridge, but elsewhere it’s all change as they extended their lead as a result of one of the most unpredictable weekend’s of the season.

Kirkham Grammar School are the only other side from the Top 5 last week to increase their points total, rising from fourth to second, with Clifton College and Ipswich sliding from second and third to third and fourth respectively.

Defeat for Millfield at Cheltenham and a draw at home for Sedbergh with Warwick sees unbeaten Brighton College climb into the Top 5, with Millfield sliding to 8th. Oddly though, with points totals dropping around them, Sedbergh climb from seventh to 6th, with unbeaten Eton College also rising a place into 7th.

Wellington College are up to 9th after their victory over Clifton College, and will be hoping for further rises if they can beat Sedbergh next week, they swap with Stamford who suffered a surprise defeat to Oundle. Bromsgrove could break into the Top 10 with victory over Stamford this week.

Elsewhere in the Top 25, Seaford College’s victory over RGS High Wycombe sees them climb to 20th, with RGS dropping to 24th from 19th, meanwhile Cranleigh also rise after their defeat of Epsom College.

With the points differences between the sides so tight, there looks as though there will be huge changes as the weeks progress. There are fifty points between 1st and 2nd, one more than the difference from 2nd to 9th. It is incredibly tight.
