Live Stream: Northampton School for Boys v Whitgift | Preview – Saturday, 11am KO

Northampton School for Boys and Whitgift meet in a crucial game this Saturday, LIVE on NextGenXV in an 11am Kick Off.

The game will be available on the NextGenXV YouTube Channel and through the embedded video below as both sides look to build real momentum as the end of term looms.

Both sides will take to the field with even records, NSB have played eight and won four, while Whitgift have played twelve and won six. Everything from those results so far points towards and incredibly tight game in the East Midlands on Saturday morning.

Northampton School for Boys arrive on the back of a frustrating game at Warwick last week, with a number of players on club duty they were beaten 33-19. There has been good news this week though, an England call up for Sonny Tonga’uhia, and when they look back over the season they will be thinking that Saturday is a real opportunity.

They have pushed the outstanding unbeaten Bromsgrove as hard as anyone, going out in the Cup 8-3 to them, meanwhile this likes of King’s Macclesfield, Solihull, The Leys, and Berkhamsted have been toppled – some excellent sides.

This would feel like the biggest scalp of all if they can do it, and the reigning U15 Continental Tyres Schools Cup champions should have ever belief that they can.

Whitgift will have belief too though, when these two met last year Whitgift won 24-0, and they arrive at this one off the back of a tightly contested victory over St Paul’s. Indeed tight games have become a big of a Whitgift speciality of late, in their last five games only one has been decided by more than a score, 31-13 victory at Dulwich College that looks like an outstanding result now in the wake of Dulwich’s recent defeat of Tonbridge.

It has been a funny old season for the Croydon side, it started with a really tough run before a great run of victories, followed by mixed results in the last few weeks. Looked at more closely though and the last few weeks saw them win two, narrowly lose to an outstanding RGS High Wycombe side, and lose in a trip to one of the most tricky away grounds there is, Campion. Rugby is more than just the score, and Whitgift are in decent nick.

Which of course steers back to the central point ahead of this game – it looks completely unpredictable. A massive game between two schools that have seen huge national success in recent years at U15 and U18 level and that could provide some blockbuster moments.

For both it is a game that could set up for a brilliant charge at the final few weeks of the season, with NSB facing Tommies and Stowe while Whitgift face Epsom and Ipswich. There are ferociously tough ends to the term for both – how they would love to head into those games with real momentum off the back of a strong performance on Saturday.
