School Tens: Mount Kelly Tens | Preview

Tournament rugby begins this week with the Mount Kelly 10s on Wednesday, a big early season marker in the diary.

It comes ahead of Sunday’s LIVE action from the Seaford Southern Tens as the short format season ramps up.

The Mount Kelly Tens sees twelve teams gather in Devon, split into three groups of four. The winners of each group plus the best runner up will all head to the Cup semi finals, while the remaining two runners up and the best two third placed sides head to the Plate semi finals, with the remaining four heading to the Bowl semis.

Hosts Mount Kelly are in Group A alongside last year’s champions, West Buckland. Joining those two are Cokethorpe and Callywith College, completing what should be a highly competitive group.

So too should Group B, which features the 2022 champions Millfield, who always have the potential to go well – especially with Bath having a bye week in the U18 Academy League. Joining them are ACE heavyweights Truro College, who reached the ACE Final in December, along with Welsh giants Bridgend College, and 2023 Plate winners Plymouth College. A monster of a group.

Group C meanwhile features another ACE side in the form of Exeter College, as well as fellow Devonians Torquay Boys Grammar. Completing the group are Colyton Grammar School and Truro School, another fantastic group.
