This Wednesday sees a return of the Ellesmere College 7s, a key tournament in the area for a number of sides.
In all there will be ten teams in action as preparations gear up ahead of stern tests ahead, including the North of England Schools 7s and the Rosslyn Park National School 7s, both LIVE here on NextGenXV.
The ten sides at Ellesmere College are drawn into two groups of five teams each, with Ellesmere College entering a side into both pools.
Their 1st VII are in Group A, and it should be a fun group, featuring Haberdashers’ Adams, Wrekin College, Shresbury 6th form College, and a Scarisbrick Hall side that really feels as though it is on the rise.
Over in Group B are the Ellesmere College 2nd VII. They welcome one of Wales’ finest to their pool, Rydal Penrhos, as well as a side from just the other side of the border, Oswestry. Alongside those three are Newcastle-Under-Lyme and an Old Swinford Hospital side that should have some strong ambitions for the 7s season ahead.
Overall it looks like a good test for all involved as they look to get fully into 7s mode following the half term break.
