On Tuesday the Boys U18 Vase concludes with both the Vase and Bowl knockout rounds, often some of the most exhilarating rugby of the week.

Tuesday also sees both U14 tournaments kick off. The Girls U14 tournament is a one day competition with 28 teams in the mix, taking part in group stages followed by the knockout rounds. Hill House were the 2023 champions and are in a tough Group A this year alongside Cardinal Newman, The Perse, and Ysgol Calon Cymru.

The U14 Boys tournament, meanwhile, is a two day competition, with the group stages and an elimination round taking place on Tuesday. Eton College won in 2023, beating Wellington College in the final, and the Windsor side are in Group A this year alongside Welsh side Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg, North London side QES Barnet, and one of their great rivals, Marlborough College.

Wednesday: Boys U14s Knockouts, Boys U16s Groups

Wednesday sees the Boys U14 competition conclude and the Boys U16 tournament begins, in many ways the toughest test of the week given that side is packed all into the one competition.

The U16 competition is a two day event, with the Group Stage and elimination round take place on Wednesday ahead of Thursday’s Cup and Plate knockout rounds and groups. Harrow are the reigning champions, they won both the U16 and the U18 Cups last year and their U16 triumph was in fact their second Howden Rosslyn Park U16 title on the bounce, one of the great achievements as it takes two completely separate teams to win back to back at this level. Their defence begins from Group A, with the quest for 3 beginning with Bedford Modern, Eastbourne College, and Kings of Wessex as the challengers.

As with the previous days, all of the action on pitches RE1 and RE2 will be broadcast LIVE on the NextGenXV YouTube Channel and through the embedded links below.

Thursday: U16 Boys Knockouts, Boys U18 Cup Groups, Girls U18 Cup Groups, Girls U18 ACE, Boys Prep Schools

Thursday is a busy day, with five different competitions taking place. The U16 Boys competition reaches its conclusion on Thursday, as will the Girls U18 ACE competition and the Boys Prep Schools competition, both of which are one day events, while the two flagship competitions, the Boys U18 Cup and the Girls U18 Cup will both begin.

The Boys U18 Cup sees Harrow aiming for history as they seek to make it back to back Howden Rosslyn Park National Schools 7s titles, and to become the first side to win the National 7s and the National 15s title in the same year. Their defence begins in a very tricky Group A with Welsh giants Coleg y Cymoedd for company, so to Oxfordshire’s Abingdon School, the superb Seaford College from Sussex, and London & South Central ACE side Bishop Wand, with whom so many of Harrow’s players are academy teammates. The U18 Cup draw is brutally tough, 60 teams split into twelve groups of five, with only the top sides progressing to the Cup on Day 2, second progress to the Plate.

It is sure to be an intense opening day, as you can see by simply casting an eye over the draw below.

The Girls U18 competition is no less daunting. 50 teams split over 10 groups of five and running pretty much in parallel to the Boys competition. Newman College won the title last year with a series of fantastic performances in the wet, not least in the final against Peter Symonds’.

Their reward is a tricky Group D, with Girls heavyweights Weston College for company, alongside King’s College Taunton, Royal Hospital School, and a strong Gordon’s side. Check out the full draw below.

Over in the Girls ACE competition it is going to be a short, sharp, and intense competition, 8 sides are involved, as you can see in the below draw, divided into two pools of four, with the top two from each going to the semi finals. The big question is, can anyone stop the reigning champions Hartpury College, perennial winners in any tournament, from going all the way again?

The Prep Schools tournament is meanwhile just a group format, as in previous years. Sixty teams are involved in total, split into ten groups of six teams each for what should be a fantastic day of action for all involved, not least for the inspiration in rubbing shoulders with some of the U18s players.

All of the action from Pitches RE1 and RE2 is again LIVE on the NextGenXV YouTube Channel and through the embedded links below – remember there are different links for each day!
