Just a day after the Howden Rosslyn Park National Schools 7s concludes, the annual Caldicott Prep School 10s takes place.

It is year 3 of the Caldicott 10s and the tournament now feels like a real fixture on the calendar and a highlight with which to end the Prep School rugby careers of those that take to the field. It is one of the great days, with its real mix of pure joy and fun, as well as a healthy dose of competitiveness.
Attacking play is encouraged, hence bonus points for scoring 4 or more tries or losing by less than 7, as all sides look to score points and embrace the game.
Twelve sides are in attendance, split into two groups of six teams each. After the group games each team will face their equivalent finisher from the other group, with top playing top, second play second, and so on. All games last 6 minutes, except those final games against your equivalent side from the other pool.
Caldicott are in Group A and it’s an exciting group with a real international flavour. IAPS Kenya are the furthest travellers, and will be heading right from Rosslyn Park, while Merchiston Castle represent Scotland, and Monmouth and Haverfordwest High School represent Wales. Taunton School are the only English side in the group alongside Caldicott.
Over in Group B there is an international element as well, with Dubai College the international addition to the group. There is an exciting addition too in the form of the Akuma Prep Barbarians, made of a mix of boys from Maidwell Hall and Bilton Grange, along with the possibility of a couple of others. Joining those two are four English sides; the superb RGS High Wycombe, Northampton School for Boys, whose rugby has gone through the roof in recent times, the ever-strong Berkhamsted, and Cheadle Hulme, who travel down from the North West.
Overall it should be an incredibly fun, exciting, and competitive day of rugby in the magnificent setting that is Caldicott Prep School.
