Seaford College have confirmed the teams that will be participating in the 2025 Seaford Southern Tens, which will be taking place on Sunday 26th January.
Sixteen sides will be in attendance, among them three newcomers to the competition in Clifton College, KES Bath, and St Joseph’s College.
All three will add hugely to the tournament, Clifton College have been one of the strongest school sides in the country for the last five or so years and will without doubt add to the already impressive level of quality at the Seaford Southern Tens.
KES Bath are seasoned operators in top level competition, not least in the ten-a-side format, having been long term participants at the end of season Sedbergh Super Tens. Their quality and tens know-how will be a huge addition.
St Joseph’s College meanwhile are hosts of the strongest fifteen-a-side competition in UK schools rugby, their annual St Joseph’s Festival in October. Their presence again adds another top-quality side to the Seaford Southern Tens roster and a side that, naturally, has great tournament know how.
It all adds to a tournament that has firmly established itself as a key date on the calendar and a one of the top competitions in all of schools rugby.
The sides competing are superb, including the three newcomers and the hosts Seaford College, who will be itching to go one better than last year’s semi final.
Alongside them the reigning champions, Ipswich School, return along with the side that they beat in last year’s final, RGS High Wycombe, plus the 2023 champions, Trinity.
Seaford’s great rivals Hurstpierpoint College are also returning, alongside three of Wiltshire and Dorset’s finest in Marlborough College, Bishop Wordsworth’s, and Canford.
Solihull will again travel down from the Midlands, likewise Felsted from the East, while Dulwich College and Epsom College, two great schools rugby institutions, again travel down from London and its surrounds. Surrey’s Gordon’s, who finished third in last year’s ACE league, will also return.
There is plenty of rugby to be played between now and the end of January, but the appetite has already well and truly been whetted for the 2025 Seaford Southern Tens!
