Gordon High Edge Scottsdene in a Tight Contest (15-10)

Right from the opening whistle, Gordon High scrumhalf Tristan Louw showcased his instinctive play, pouncing on a loose ball and darting over in the corner for an early lead. Both teams embraced an attacking mindset, with wide, running rugby lighting up the field. Gordon High nearly extended their lead in the 3rd minute when hooker Marcello van Beulen was held up after a thunderous carry from a penalty-driven lineout.

Scottsdene’s response was swift, as hooker Ethan Marsh capitalized on phase play, picking up from the back and bulldozing over for their first try in the 7th minute. The back-and-forth continued, and Gordon High took the lead again in the 16th minute when Louw identified an overlap and sent a crisp pass to Migyle Peterson, who finished superbly in the corner.

Just before the break, Marcelino September showcased brilliant game awareness, latching onto a perfectly weighted grubber cross-kick to level the scores at halftime. The decisive moment came in the 34th minute, when Van Beulen, a dominant force throughout the match, powered over from a quick tap penalty to secure Gordon High’s victory.

Milnerton Hold Off Late Durbanville Surge (20-15)

Milnerton started with intent, spreading the ball wide early and reaping rewards in the 8th minute when inside centre Morgan Lodewyk delivered a silky offload to left wing Litha Tasana, who raced over for the opening score. Their momentum continued in the 12th minute with a well-worked team try, featuring a daring behind-the-back pass that ended with Jeremy Armstrong diving over.

Durbanville refused to back down, responding immediately through flanker Van Vuuren, who caught Milnerton off guard and powered over for a try in the 14th minute. However, Milnerton struck again in the 17th, using their forward pack to create an overlap, allowing fullback Chadlin Sellidon to cruise over for an easy score.

With Milnerton leading 15-5 at the break, Sellidon produced another moment of magic in the 21st minute, executing a chip-and-chase to perfection. Durbanville fought back valiantly with a J. Smit rolling maul try in the 23rd minute, followed by a R. Vosloo score in the 26th, but Milnerton held firm to claim a well-earned victory.

Bishops Dominate Bellville in Ruthless Display (45-0)

A transformed Bishops outfit delivered a masterclass, overwhelming Bellville with slick handling and relentless attacking pressure. It took just one minute for left wing Koenig to cross the whitewash, setting the tone for the match.

Despite Bellville’s efforts, Bishops’ forwards made their mark in the 10th minute with a close-range try, and by the 13th minute, their relentless attack led to another score, though the exact try scorer remained unidentified.

Leading 15-0 at the break, Bishops wasted no time in the second half. Winger Geduld added another in the 20th minute after a superb inside pass, and in the very next play, Visagie announced himself with an 80-meter solo effort, displaying blistering speed for a player of his size.

The onslaught continued with Koenig completing his brace after a quick-tap penalty in the 24th minute. Bishops’ replacements also made their mark, with a powerful fend leading to a 33rd-minute score, and a final flourish in the 37th minute as their fullback recovered from a dropped ball to weave his way through two defenders and dive over.

Boland Landbou and Wynberg Battle to a Stalemate (10-10)

Wynberg struck first against the run of play in the 5th minute when outside centre Albert Lourens intercepted a pass and sprinted clear for the opening try. Boland Landbou responded immediately as flyhalf Pieter Bergh capitalized on a handling error, dashing forward and linking up with Jason Ocks for an easy finish.

Wynberg regained control in the 8th minute, setting up a rolling maul that saw Noah Gila crash over, giving them a narrow 10-5 halftime lead.

The second half remained tense, with Wynberg’s flyhalf Yaqeen Ahmed opting to keep the ball in play instead of kicking to touch—a decision that backfired when Blake de Kock pounced on a dropped pass to level the scores at 10-10. Neither side could break the deadlock in the closing stages, resulting in a hard-fought draw.

Paarl Boys Shut Out SACS in a Gritty Contest (15-0)

In a game defined by physicality, Paarl Boys managed to break through in the 9th minute as lock Gershom Pieters muscled his way over. The game remained tight until the 18th minute when hooker Tommy Muller capped off a well-executed rolling maul to extend the lead to 10-0 at halftime.

SACS defended heroically throughout, but in the 31st minute, flanker Steph van der Merwe showed his pace, slicing through the backline to secure a comfortable win for Paarl Boys.

Rondebosch and Paarl Gim Play Out a Thrilling Draw (15-15)

Paarl Gim exploited space early on, with Markus Muller finishing clinically in the 10th minute. Lock Jean Dreyer followed up with a powerful close-range try, putting Paarl Gim ahead 10-0 before Rondebosch responded with a Josh Neill try from a well-worked pick-and-go.

Muller struck again in the 22nd minute, securing his sixth try in a week, but Rondebosch mounted a late charge. Alutha Wessi capitalized on a defensive lapse in the 33rd minute before Neill powered over in the dying moments to level the scores at 15-15.

Paul Roos’ Second-Half Surge Sinks Stellenberg (20-0)

Paul Roos faced stiff resistance from Stellenberg, with the first breakthrough coming in the 17th minute when Travis Pheiffer executed a pinpoint pass to Jordan Steenkamp for the opening try.

Paul Roos led 5-0 at halftime but turned on the style in the second half. Steenkamp crossed again in the 23rd minute after relentless attacking waves.

A Dylan van Wyk rolling maul try in the 27th minute put the result beyond doubt, and Luke Kent sealed the win in the 36th minute after pouncing on a loose ball.
