No strangers to the ISL’s competitive nature, Millfield, all the way from Devon, will present their first team to take on the opening fixture of the tournament. Last weekend, their second team put in a strong performance at Worcester Arena, giving us a taste of what’s to come. The side, led by Jenna Adamson, founder of ISL Netball and former Welsh international assistant coach, has enjoyed a promising and competitive start to the season. The girls will be feeling fresh and ready to take on their opponents, with high expectations on a team that has previously produced international athletes and SuperLeague players.
Wrekin will look to build on their excellent form this year. Having found success in their early fixtures, they are set to be strong contenders in the ISL. The U19 team is part of Wrekin’s high-performance pathway, where many players have progressed from junior teams within the school, creating a tight-knit and well-drilled squad.
A school where netball is at the heart of female sport, Haileybury will aim to replicate their impressive talent from last season, when they finished runners-up at the East Regional Schools’ Finals, narrowly losing the title to Berkhamstead in February. An early tournament clash between these rivals promises intriguing viewing and may offer a glimpse of who could come out on top this time around.
Berkhamstead have firmly established themselves as a netball powerhouse. They have achieved multiple national and regional titles, including winning both the ISNC National Cup and the Sisters n Sport National Cup just days apart eight months ago. A force to be reckoned with, they will be one of the teams to watch.
Travelling from the south, Hurstpierpoint College has enjoyed notable netball success in recent years. Most recently, they placed fourth at the National Schools Finals held at Oundle School and claimed the South Regional Championship, finishing the 24/25 season in style.
Also from the south, Gordon’s School is renowned for sporting excellence, boasting over 24 netball teams. Their 1st VII have competed at the World School Games and numerous national and regional tournaments, achieving success at the London and South Regional Championships in 2024. Most recently, they were finalists at the England Netball National Schools, making them a team that will be feared by all other schools in the competition.
Stowe will start their morning on Court 2 and will be a tough team to overcome. As one of the top four netball schools in the UK, they have produced alumni who have gone on to play for England, including Izzy Kay, who competed in Gibraltar at the Netball Youth World Cup just two weeks ago. Accustomed to a demanding fixture list, Stowe enter this weekend as favourites. Having been runners-up at the prestigious England Netball National Schools’ Finals in 2024, they will be keen to add another title to their impressive record.
Solihull also pose a serious threat to the other sides. As one of the more local teams in the league, they are likely to arrive fresh-faced and ready to rise to the occasion. A formidable presence in netball, they won bronze at the World Schools Netball Cup in 2025 and will be aiming to live up to their strong reputation.
We look forward to welcoming everyone for this exciting round of fixtures, featuring some of the most prestigious and competitive school netball teams in England. Sunday promises to deliver thrilling action that will not disappoint.
