The Quarter Finals for the U15 Continental Tyres Schools Cup have been revealed and it pits some of the biggest names in all of schools rugby together.
The Plate Quarter Finals have also been confirmed, while the Vase and Bowl are both now in the Regional Finals stage, after which the quarter finals are drawn, they will be played in early January.
U15 Cup
Reigning champions Northampton School for Boys are bidding for a fourth straight final and a third title in four year, but they have an almighty quarter final ahead of them after their 17-15 Regional Final victory over local rivals Samuel Whitbread, who they also faced in the St Joseph’s Festival final. They will be hosting schools rugby giants Sedbergh, the 2016 champions. Sedbergh beat St Peter’s York 27-17 in their regional final and will be itching to take themselves a step closer to glory.
In the middle of the previous decade, Warwick were perennial finalists, winning back to back titles in 2013 and 2014 and reaching the final in 2015 and 2017 as well. They will be eager to repeat that after just squeaking through following a 19-19 draw with Oakham. They host St Anselm’s College, who knocked out Cup giants QEGS Wakefield 27-13 in the previous round. Already this is one of the school’s greatest triumphs, but they will be so keen to press on now.
On the other side of the draw, yet more giants. Harrow’s 29-22 victory over KCS Wimbledon sees them through, back to back U18 champions they have never won this U15 competition but would dearly love to. To do so, they have to get past a legend of Cup rugby in the form of Whitgift, the three time champions, most recently in 2018. They were excellent in a gritty 15-5 victory over Seaford College in their regional final.
The final quarter final is a bit of a derby between the two key sides for the Bath Rugby Academy, Millfield and Beechen Cliff. Millfield are arguably the best known rugby school in the world but it has been a while since they clinched the silverware in this competition, 2009 was their sole title. They showed their quality in their 29-10 victory against Dean Close and will be so eager to go even further, they will have to be sharp though Beechen Cliff’s rugby is going from strength to strength, their U18s lifted the ACE League trophy and this U15 side was stunningly good in a 43-5 victory over last year’s finalists, Lord Wandsworth College, to reach this quarter final.

Northampton School for Boys v Sedbergh
Harrow v Whitgift
Millfield v Beechen Cliff
U15 Plate
The U15 Plate quarter finals look as though they could so easily be Cup quarter finals. Reigning champions Radley College, who won the Cup in 2024, are in the mix, they are on the road at Sandbach for what should be a brilliant quarter final.
Bromsgrove reached the final in 2024 and would love to go a step further and clinch the Plate. They have a mighty task though, hosting a very strong Barnard Castle side, it’s another that ought to be very special.
In the South, Caterham and RGS Guildford meet in an all-Surrey affair, both had to come through incredibly tight came to get here. Caterham progressing after a draw at John Fisher, RGS Guildford just edging it at Sherborne, 14-7. Expect another tight one.
Rounding it off, reigning Vase champions St Paul’s School host Bristol Grammar School after both put in brilliant regional final displays against Merchant Taylors’ and Taunton School respectively, this should be a high quality affair.
