England name Under 18’s and Clubs & Schools squads

England Under 18’s head Coach, John Fletcher, has announced his squad for the 2013 FIRA/AER European Championship in Grenoble, which kicks off on Friday for his England side.

Speaking of his squad, Fletcher said:

“We’ve got a good squad for this tournament but we know that it will be a challenge. We’re missing a few lads, Alfie Barron, Max Clark, Brett Herron and Will Owen are injured unfortunately, but it gives an opportunity for guys to come in and impress.”

“Our aim is to build on the recent performances against Scotland and Wales and improve through the three games.”

There are a number of exciting players in the squad who have been plying their trade the length and breadth of the country for both their School’s and their Club Under 18 sides.

Ivybridge and Prince Henry’s Grammar School contribute the most players with three each, all three of Oakland’s are from their exciting backline, Perkins, Tompkins and Sharp.

Bryanston contribute the most from the non AASE schools with two players, Charlie Ewels in the forwards and Rory Jennings in the backline.

It promises to be an exciting tournament, kicking off for England on Friday against Portugal at 6pm.
