School Rugby – Midweek Results

There were some exciting midweek results this week both in the NatWest Cup and elsewhere.

RGS High Wycombe and Stowe became the first two sides to secure their fifth round places in the NatWest Cup after RGS beat Windsor Boys School 62-0, and Stowe beat Aylesbury Grammar 14-3.

Before all that though Uppingham took on Wisbech Grammar on Tuesday, putting in an outstanding display to win 66-5, setting them up perfectly ahead of their fixture against Oundle on Saturday.

Over in Kent Charterhouse put in a solid performance to beat Sevenoaks 34-15.

On Wednesday KCS Wimbledon v St Paul’s took centre stage for us and it did not disappoint. KCS won an excellent game 15-10, holding of a sterling St Paul’s comeback in the final ten minutes of the game.

Millfield showed their quality with a 36-19 victory over Portsmouth Grammar School despite resting some start names, ahead of a massive week that includes fixtures against Llandovery College and Filton College.

Christ’s Hospital put in a good performance to beat a good Worth side 12-10, while Bromsgrove edged an absolute nailbiter against Kikrham Grammar School, though perhaps not the most exciting game, 3-0.

It was certainly an exciting midweek of rugby, with a few results still to come in, and bodes well for what looks like being one of the most competitive weekends of the season so far.
