Scotland U20s have named their side to play Italy tomorrow evening, making several changes for the side that suffered at the hands of England.

That defeat was a second heavy defeat in a row for the young Scots so they will be looking to make their mark against the Italians this time out at the Stadio Omero Tongon.

Tommy Spinks leads the side once again from openside flanker, this week he is supported in the back row by Lewis Carmichael and Magnus Bradbury at number 8, with former Wellington College star Buchan Richardson on the bench alongside Loughborough University’s Gabriel Carroll.

Newcaslte Falcons lock Glen Young starts alondside Andrew Cramond, while in the front row Philip Cringle starts at tighthead and is joined by two players based south of the border, Wasps’ Sam James at hooker, and Worcester Warriors’ Jack Cosgrove at loosehead. Waiting to replace them from the bench are James Malcolm, D’Arcy Rae, and Chris Barnes.

In the backline Clermont Auvergne’s Murdo McAndrew gets his first start of the competition at scrum half, with Ben Vellacott dropping to the bench. Ben Chalmers keeps his palce at fly half with Loretto School’s Richard Taylor outside him at 12 and Blair Hutchinson pairing with him in the centres.

Out wide the Edinburgh Accies pair of Ruaraidh Young and Jamie Farndale occupy full back and the right wing respectively, while Damien Hoyland is on the left, with George Horne and Sam Pecqueur covering the backs from the bench.
