Bryanston 7s draw announced for Sunday 15th March

BECOME A PATRON

The draw for the 2015 Bryanston 7s has been made, with holders Blundell’s among the favourites to retain their title on Sunday 15th March.

Blundell’s beat Bryanston 19-14 in last year’s final, and last week reached the final of the first 7s tournament of the season, losing out to Millfield.

They are drawn in Group B alongside five other tough opponents, in particular Kingswood and Sherborne, though King’s College Taunton, Truro, and King’s Bruton are all very capable too.

Blundell’s opponents in last year’s final, hosts Bryanston, are in Group A. Abingdon will likely be their biggest threat to Cup progression, though KES Bath, Taunton School, Gunnersbury, and King Edward’s Southampton are all involved.

Canford also performed well at Millfield last week, they are drawn in Group C alongside NatWest Cup quarter finalists Dauntsey’s, Bristol Grammar School, Cup legends Colston’s, Downside, and Millfield’s 2nd VII.

Over in Group D Cheltenham College, who lifted the Plate in last weekend’s Shiplake 7s, will be the favourites, they are drawn with Wellington School, Portsmouth Grammar, Milton Abbey, Queen’s College Taunton, and Christ College, who will be looking to build momentum ahead of their own tournament in a few weeks.

The winner of each group will compete in the Cup semi finals, with second place playing for the Plate, third the Bowl, and fourth place for the Shield.
