U20 RBS 6 Nations: Scotland name side as they search for 3rd win

Scotland have named their U20 side for Friday’s U20 RBS 6 Nations clash with Ireland.

The 19.35 kick off at Donnybrook sees Scotland make four changes, with Tom Galbraith taking over the captaincy after Scott Cummings was called up by Glasgow Warriors.

Galbraith moves from centre to full back, with George Taylor coming into the centres, and Stephen Ainslie replacing Cummings in the second row. Scott Burnside comes in to replace the concussed Andrew Davidson at blindside, meanwhile Callum Sheldon returns at tighthead.

Speaking ahead of the game, Head Coach John Dalziel said:

“Firstly, I would like to congratulate Tom [Galbraith] and wish him all the best on taking on the captaincy for this match. He epitomises and embraces the team’s values and ethos, and we have no doubts he’ll lead by example this weekend.”

“We know that everyone in this squad is capable of doing a job, and those who have been promoted to the starting XV, or gained a spot on the bench, will give their everything and fully deserve their call-up.”

“The squad is looking forward to getting back on the road and facing up to the challenge Ireland will present at home. We were disappointed with the result against France, but there were a lot of positives to take from the performance and we’ll look to build on them for this Friday’s game.”

“The mood in camp this week has been focused and determined, and we want to finish what has already been a successful campaign on a high and with a third win.”
