Schools Rugby Midweek Preview

This week is a fairly quiet one in the world of schoolboy rugby, the calm before the storm of the 7s season beginning.

Nevertheless, what rugby there is looks as though it should provide plenty of excitement. Whitgift, after a couple of cancellations in other fixtures, are at home to City of London Freemen’s.

The north west sees an exciting fixture between Wilmslow High School and Queen Ethelburga’s, while Hilbre High School host Reaseheath College. Back in the south east Brentwood are at home to KEGS Chelmsford, and Latymer Upper travelling to Ibstock Place, while Skinners’ are away at Maidstone Grammar.

Millfield are in action once again against Welsh opposition, this time at the WRU Super 16s. Millfield’s track record in Wales and against Welsh opposition this season is fantastic, having won six from six.

Elsewhere Austin Friars travel to Kirkbie Kendall, while Sir Joseph Williamson’s host Oakwood Park. St Peter’s Gloucester, meanwhile, are at home to Tewkesbury.

All of that rugby is taking place on Wednesday, but today there was also a huge Schools Rugby event as the U18 NatWest Vase and Bowl quarter final draws, and the U15 Cup, Plate, Vase, and Bowl quarter final draws took place on the England Rugby Facebook Page. You can see the full draw for each competition, including the semi finals of the U18 Cup and Plate, here: NatWest Schools Cup quarter final and semi final draw.
