An exciting few days of school rugby have seen the draws for all four U18 NatWest competition semi finals confirmed.
On Wednesday and Thursday the remaining Plate, Vase, and Bowl quarter finals were played, while the Cup quarter finals had already been completed weeks ago.
U18 NatWest Plate
In the Plate Lymm High Schools v Solihull was already confirmed as the first semi final, with Reigate Grammar School confirmed in the second semi final. However Regiate’s opponents were still to be decided as Crossley Heath were still to welcome Cambridge’s Hills Road 6th form College.
On Wednesday the two sides met, with Crossley Heath taking the victory in a commanding performance, 27-7. The face Reigate Grammar in the semi finals, which are due to take place on the week of the 27th February.

All four Vase quarter finals took place on Wednesday as the eight sides played out for the right to play at Allianz Park in the semi finals on Saturday 4th March.
The Perse and Trent College booked their places in the first semi final, kicking off at 11.00, with Trent College beating Worksop College convincingly, 29-6, while The Perse squeaked through in the tightest of fashions as the away side against St George’s College Weybridge after a 14-14 draw.
Silcoates booked their place in the second semi final, kicking off at 13.00, as they beat Seevic College 15-5. They face Royal Latin School, who were in impressive form as they beat Taunton School 28-14 on Wednesday.

The Bowl semi finals, like the Plate, will take place during the week commencing the 27th February. St Olave’s Grammar School had already booked their semi final place, but they had to wait for the outcome of Bolton v Queen Elizabeth’s High School to find out their opposition. Bolton were the side to come out victorious, beating the visitors 29-7.
The other semi final sees Woodbridge, who beat Wycliffe College 29-14 on Thursday, face Old Swinford Hospital, Cup finalists in 2012, after they beat Gordon’s School 32-14 on Wednesday.

Though the semi finalists for the flagship NatWest competition were already known, it is worth just having a quick look back at who has made the trip to Allianz Park on Saturday 4th March for the late kick offs.
Bishop Wordsworth’s will meet the back to back holders, Bromsgrove, at 15.00, while Feslted will meet Warwick, U15 champions in 2013 and 2014, and U15 runners up in 2015, and 17.00.

Elsewhere
Outside of the NatWest fixtures there were plenty of other exciting games. Reigate Grammar School and Tiffin played out a thriller, with Regiate just sneaking the win, 22-21.
There was a great fixture between Hayes and Salesian too, with Hayes beating their hosts in a stunning game of rugby, 34-29.
Cooper’s Coborn were in flying form for a 52-17 win over King John School, while Queen Ethelburga’s continued their mighty start to 2017 with a brilliant 33-17 win over AASE side Myerscough College.

Rydal Penrhos was the venue for Wednesday’s 7s, with the Welsh school hosting a six team round robin event. Birkenhead, Giggleswick, Manchester Grammar School, Newcastle-Under-Lyme School, and Oswestry were the guests, with Giggleswick finishing out on top by points difference over Birkenhead.
Birkenhead actually beat Giggleswick 12-5, however a subsequent 21-0 defeat to Oswestry saw Giggleswick nick the title that to their superior points record.
