Wales have named their side for Friday’s U20 6 Nations encounter against England.

Kicking off at Kingston Park at 7.45pm, Wales are coming off the back of a brilliant 36-3 win over Scotland last week but Head Coach JasoN Strange has made a number of changes.

Gloucester’s Carwyn Penny comes in at full back, with star man Cai Evans, son of Ieuan, moving from the fifteen shirt to fly half. Seventeen year old Harri Morgan remains at scrum half.

In the centres Callum Carson moves out one from inside centre to outside centre, with Ben Thomas being promoted from the bench to the twelve shirt. Joining Penny in the back row are Ryan Conbeer, who started last week, and Rio Dyer, who comes in for his first appearance of the campaign.

The side is led once again by Leicester Tigers’ Tommy Reffell, with Dan Davis once again at openside, Morgan Morris comes in at 8 for Taine Basham, who is on the bench.

The tight five contains just one change, with Rhys Henry comes in at tighthead, with Rhys Carre and Iestyn Harris retaining their spots in the front row. Jack Pope and Max Williams continue in the second row.

Will Griffiths comes onto the bench as replacements hooker, with Josh Reynolds keeping his spot and Sam Wainwright dropping down from the starting fifteen. Morgan Jones continues to cover the second row, with Taine Basham covering the back row.

Aaron Hemmings comes in for a potential first appearance of the Championship, so too Max Llewellyn and Wales 7s star, Tomi Lewis.

Commenting ahead of the game, Wales U20 Head Coach Jason Strange said:

“We’ve got some players returning to their regions this weekend, so it’s a huge opportunity for these new boys making their first U20 appearance in the Six Nations, we need to keep improving after a good opening game against Scotland, because England always pose one of the biggest challenges at any age grade.”

“It should make for a fascinating game. The synthetic pitch at Kingston Park is conducive to running rugby – something both teams will be looking to produce.”
