U18 Internationals: Men’s & Women’s U18 Six Nations Festival Fixtures confirmed – inaugural women’s event

The dates for the U18 Men’s Six Nations Festival have been announced, along with the dates for the brand new U18 Women’s Six Nations Festival.

The Men’s competition will take place at the French Federation National centre in Marcoussis, with games on the 9th, 13th, and 17th of April, while the Women’s competition will be at the Dam Health Stadium in Scotland, home of Edinburgh Rugby and will feature two matchdays, the 9th April and the 13th.

The men’s will see games on each of the matchdays. On Saturday 9th April France will face Ireland, Scotland will takes on Italy, and Wales will take on England in what will be a repeat of their game in Taunton on Sunday 20th March.

Matchday 2 on Wednesday 13th April will see the U18 Calcutta Cup take place with England and Scotland going head to head, meanwhile France will face Wales and Italy will take on Ireland.

The final gameday is Sunday 17th April, where hosts France will meet Scotland, Ireland and Wales will meet, and England and Italy will take each other on just a few days before they meet again at U19 level.

It will be the first time the U18 Men’s Six Nations Festival has taken place since 2019, however for the Women it is the inaugural event.

The structure for the Women’s Festival in Edinburgh will be slightly different, with two matchdays, unlike the men, but still featuring three games. That will be achieved through two short 35 minute games each on matchday 1 and a full length 70 minute game on matchday two.

Matchday one is Saturday 9th April and the hosts, Scotland, will be taking on Wales and Italy. The teams are essentially grouped as three, so Wales and Italy will also meet. That leaves France, Ireland, and England all also playing each other in a round robin.

Matchday 2 is on Wednesday 13th April and Scotland will again face Italy, though this time in a full length game, similarly England and France will also meet again. Ireland and Wales will, meanwhile, meet for the first time in the Festival.

Details for kick off time will be released in due course, along with (hopefully) live streaming details – NextGenXV are of course, as ever, available.
