Live Stream: Northampton School for Boys v Ipswich | Friday, 7.30pm

Friday night sees Ipswich School travel to Northampton School for Boys for what should be an absolutely epic encounter under the lights in Northamptonshire.

The 7.30pm kick off will be live streamed here on NextGenXV and you will be able to watch it all on our YouTube channel, on TikTok, and embedded below this paragraph.

It should be an absolutely fascinating game, both of these two sides have enjoyed huge rises. Over the last ten years NSB have grown enormously on the field, Head of Rugby Phil Beaumont overseeing a period that has seen them even reach Twickenham Stadium to compete in the Schools Cup final.

Ipswich School’s rise has been even quicker still, with building blocks towards the end of the last decade, and then a rapid rise under Jacob Ford that last year saw them establish themselves in the upper echelons and developing a fixture list that really challenges them. This year expectations are that they will be among the best around.

Friday night therefore will be huge, Ipswich have already claimed the President’s Cup and a stunning 69-0 victory over Uppingham to start the season, but the President’s Cup was pre-season and NSB will be a step above Uppingham.

NSB are perhaps therefore more battle hardened in a way, they were on the wrong side of the result in their opener on Saturday, yet come away with huge praise after the tightest of defeats to a very strong Denstone College side, 11-12.

So Friday night looks to be a massive encounter in that context, however given Ipswich’s 68-15 victory in the corresponding fixture last year, NSB will be hoping to be far more in the game this year.

If they can, they we are in for a treat in the first Live Streamed Friday Night Lights of the season!
