RGS High Wycombe beat Sir Thomas Rich’s as Daily Mail last 16 takes shape

The last 16 of the Under 18 Daily Mail Cup took further shape today as Sir Thomas Rich’s travelled to take on RGS High Wycombe.

RGS won 10-3 in an encounter that was always expected to be a close affair. In truth though, RGS were a more superior side than the scoreline suggested, with all their points coming through their two tries.

A spirited Sir Thomas Rich’s ensured that RGS could never really pull away though, indeed such was their spirit that the last fifteen minutes became a very tense affair for the home side.

In the end though a strong performance from the dominant RGS back row unit was the big difference between the two sides and RGS held out for an excellent victory.

The win puts RGS into the last 16 of the Cup where they will face either Truro School or Blundell’s.

With twelve of the sixteen decided, the tournament is really beginning to take shape, with the winners of the round of sixteen progressing to the last eight where the tournament becomes truly national.
