Scotland name U20s squad for 6 Nations campaign

Scotland have named their U20s squad for their forthcoming 6 Nations campaign, with 2012/13 Fifteen Rugby School All Stars member, Buchanan Richardson, included.
Richardson is one of eight players in the squad currently plying their trade south of the border, and joins fellow London Scottish player Tommy Spinks in the squad. It is not just Scottish and English clubs that see their players involved though, Murdo McAndrew of Clermont Auvergne is also involved.
The squad has been trimmed down to 26 after a 32 man squad played Melrose last week, from whom Ben Chalmers was called up at outside half after impressing, and speaking of that camp and the camp to follow next week, where they will play a Scotland Club XV at Netherdale, Head Coach Sean Lineen said:
“The players all come from different backgrounds – some are Elite Development Players (EDPs), some are club players, some are at college, so we’re trying to mould them into understanding the level of intensity at international level.”
“A key role with the under-20s is to identify and develop players and promote them to the next level – and I’m excited, we have some good players here.”
“Monday and Tuesday will be two full-on tough days before we head to Gala on Wednesday. We had a great game against them [Scotland Club XV] at Ayr last year and it’ll be a real test for our guys, competing against some older, seasoned players where one of the big differences is the communication levels.”
“They talk a lot whereas you can see our guys are still a little bit quieter. We need to promote that and let them express themselves.”
Scotland begin their campaign on 31st January against Ireland at Dunbarry Park, Athlone at 19.05.
