London Floodlit 7s: Youngsters set to shine at tomorrow’s Floodlit 7s

Team news for tomorrow’s London Floodlit 7s at Rosslyn Park is beginning to come through thick and fast.

 

Worcester Warriors and London Irish have both announced their squads, which are packed full of young talent, while the charity side, SKRUM Smugglers, have also revealed their exciting young squad.

 

The side, a creation of former Epsom College pupil and 7s specialist, Charlie Dockery, the SKRUM side is made up of recent school leavers from the London area.

 

Alongside Dockery, former schoolmates such as Ben Wooolams and Harry Wakefield are both in the squad, along with former Wellington College captain Ed Forshaw, KCS Wimbledon old boy Gareth Stoppani, ex-Whitgift star George Taylor, Durham old boy Jacob Bushnell, the former Tonbridge man Jamie Lavers, as well as the likes of Max Himbury and Adam Barnard.

 

London Irish have named a number of current schools stars, including three current England U18 stars, winger Joe Cokanasiga, and the Wellington College duo of Rory Brand and Ben Loader.

 

Also included as U18s are Ollie Hassle-Collins and Jacob Atkins, both of whom helped Irish to the U18 Premiership title

 

Joining them are a number of recent school leavers such as Curtis Langdon and former RGS High Wycombe skipper Ross Neale. They are joined by a true 7s specialist in the form of ex-England skipper Christian Lewis-Pratt.

 

Speaking about the competition, Academy Director Nick Kennedy said:

 

“Every year this competition gets stronger and stronger and this year will be no different with a lot of talented sides taking part. It will be great to see how the under-18s lads get on and I’m sure they will relish the opportunity to step up to the plate and underline their credentials as the future of the Club.”

 

Worcester Warriors have also named an exciting young squad. Warwick’s number 8, Tom Dodd, is included in the squad, along with Hartpury College duo Harry Cochrane and Steve Leonard.

 

Six members of the Worcester Academy are also named, including Dodd’s former Warwick teammate Jamie Shillcock, as well as Tiff Eden, Josh Adams, and Perry Humpreys, and also Sam Ripper-Smith and Jack Singleton, who both played alongside Shillcock for England U20 this season.

 

Rounding off the squad a three first team players, Ben Howard, Andy Short, and Max Stelling.
