England Counties U20 have named their squad for their summer tour of Russia.
The squad travels to Russia for games against Russia U20 on the 5th and 8th of June. Team Manager Peter Vernon has selected a squad of 23 for the two game tour, and speaking on the selection, he said:
“Every year it’s difficult to pick 23 players from such a talented group but we’re confident in the selection process and the coaching team are feeling confident in this squad. We know the side will be tested by a strong Russia U20 team but we’re excited by the challenge and believe we can go there and win.”
The squad was selected following the U20 County Championships, with a final selection day taking place at Moseley RFC last week following divisional matches at the start of May.
Fifteen counties are represented in the squad, with a number of star names from the recent schools rugby past, including the likes of Connor Wilkinson (Lancashire), Ben Pointon (East Midlands), and James Neal (Warwickshire).
