The ISRFC Lambs have named their U16 squad to face Boys Club of Wales on Sunday, their first game of the season.
Last weekend the U16s held their final trials at Wisbech Grammar School ahead of the U18s’ game against Yorkshire, which they won comfortably.
This week the U16s are again sharing a venue with the senior Lambs side, Aylesbury RFC’s new artificial surface. The U16s will kick off against Boys Club of Wales at 14.00 before the U18s then take over at 15.30, you can see the U18 side for that fixture here: U18 ISRFC Lambs v Boys Club of Wales.
The U16s have named a 21-man squad for the game, with 11 forwards and 10 backs. Norwich School are well represented in the squad with James Cherry and Ben Nkrumah in the pack and Tega Emore in the back division, while Shebbear College also have three players in the squad, like Norwich they have a two-one split, Charlie Short and Sione Funaki in the forwards, and Alessandro Aliberti in the backs.
Millfield have two players in the pack too, Alfie Gibson and Ed Pollard, while Tonbridge have Cameron Flower in the forwards and Mike Purves in the backs. Shiplake College also have players in and out of the scrum, Robbie Cartwright with the forwards and Matty Fizgerald with the backs.
A number of schools will have players featuring in both games, Millfield’s two U16 representatives will be followed by Tom Wood for the U18s, while Bishop’s Stortford College are represented by George Imber for the U16s and Didi Vidal-Adegun for the U18s. Berkhamsted meanwhile have Max Shepherd in the U16s, while the U18s are skippered by Matt Harris, with George Carter on the bench.
