Live Stream: Atlantic Youth Touch Cup | International Age-Grade Touch Rugby

This weekend sees the Atlantic Youth Touch Cup take place at Nottingham University as some of the finest young Touch Rugby players from around the world gather for four days of intense competition across three age-groups at major international level.

NextGenXV will be live streaming all of the action on the main pitch as we continue with our aim to cover and promote all forms of rugby across each gender, and indeed our commitment to streaming all youth sport, with age-group, gender, and the shape of the ball no barrier to our commitment to help add to the excitement and enjoyment of youth and grassroots sport for all.

Touch Rugby is, of course, fast becoming one of the most important branches of rugby as people seek alternatives and additions to the contact game and the Atlantic Youth Touch Cup should highlight just what the game can offer.

Across Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (20th-23rd July) there will be five key competitions, the Women’s U20s, Men’s U20s, Women’s U18s, Mixed U18s, and Mixed U15s competitions, as well as non-Test status competitions and Men’s U18s and Mixed U20s level.

Competing across the various levels are the home nations, England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Fellow Europeans, France and Belgium, and four nations that have put in some serious miles in the form of the Cayman Islands, China, South Africa, and the USA.

Games will last 40 minutes, 20 minutes each way, though more time is allocated for knockout games to accommodate the possibility of the thrilling, but much feared, drop-off. The drop-off is the Touch Rugby equivalent of extra time, a further period of action if the scores are level after normal time with each side reduced from six players to four. Should the scores be level after that, the teams are reduced by a further player each and the game goes to golden point.

It is thrilling, it is exhausting, and it is played at a frightening pace. Much like the game of Touch Rugby itself!
