The final round of group games in the 2023 ACE League take place this Wednesday in Round 3 of Stage 2 of the league.
Teams are competing across both divisions and all four pools of their final pool placings, with will decide their play off games and potential final positions.
In Division 1 the two pool winners will meet in the ACE League Final in a fortnight, second in the pools will compete for third, third in the pools for fifth, and last for seventh. In Division 2 the pool winners will compete for 9th, second for 11th, and third for 13th place.

Brooksby Melton College v Beechen Cliff
Gosforth Academy v Hartpury College
Last week a stunning victory for Hartpury College over Beechen Cliff put them in pole position for a place in the final. Hartpury travel to Gosforth Academy, who won a tight one v Brooksby Melton College last week, knowing that a league point of any kind would see them into the final again and with a shot at retaining their title.
Beechen Cliff are the only side that can theoretically pip Hartpury to top spot, but they will need a win with a bonus point against Brooksby Melton College and to hope that Hartpury fail to get a single league point in their game against Gosforth.
Pool B
Gordon’s v City of Oxford College
Truro College v Stourport High
Last week’s 31-21 victory for Truro College at Gordon’s has put Truro College in prime position for a place in the final. They host Stourport High on Wednesday knowing that a single league point will send them into the final.
Should that not happen then both Gordon’s and City of Oxford, who meet at Gordon’s on Wednesday, could be poised to pounce but one of them will need a bonus point victory and a big points difference swing – which makes Gordon’s the more likely, they are 24 points behind Truro’s points difference tally while City of Oxford’s is 49 behind.

North
Bishop Burton College v Oaklands College
The North pool is a game behind the rest of the league, this will be Oaklands College’s first game of the second stage, however it will be Bishop Burton College’s final game of the league stage after their 57-5 victory over Myerscough last time out. Last time these two met Bishop Burton won 61-24 away from home, how they would love for something similar, which would guarantee them playing in the 9th place play off.
South
SGS Filton College v Bishop Wand
It is the final game in the South pool, Exeter College are currently top of the pool after their two games but only by a point from Bishop Wand and by four from SGS Filton College. When these two met earlier in the season Filton won 31-24 at Bishop Wand, a similar result would make this pool very very interesting, while a win for Bishop Wand would guarantee top spot.
